Larry Tonel continues as Secretary. Bob Fenton is a returning Director for 06. |
RPTC at Parks Commission Council Meeting
|
The Fresno Parks Commission presented its multimillion dollar master plan for some two dozen priority projects at the April 18 City Council meeting. At the urgings of Tom Boyajian and Cynthia Sterling's office, RPTC took the opportunity to introduce its facility improvement goals to other council members. A formal letter was sent; and then at the meeting, John Gruberg gave a brief presentation which pointed out that improving the tennis facility would draw more players, disperse the riffraff, and result in an improved image for Roeding Park and the city in general. A need for perimeter fencing and a separate tennis bathroom was stressed, along with the fact that RPTC and the USTA would offer financial support. Also present at the meeting were Larry Tonel and Tim Hernandez. |

| Two of the three candidates above will be elected to join Larry Tonel, Bob Fenton and John Gruberg as members of the Board for 2006. However, because each of them has so much to offer, it is likely a meaningful committee position will be offered to the third individual, in order for the person not elected to remain in close contact with the newly created Board. | ||||
