SCOTT BOROWIAK
Player, Coach,
Tour Guide
A former NorCal open player, Scott Borowiak is
currently No. 2 in Men's 50's. As a teaching pro at the Marina
Club in Stockton, the youthful Borowiak combines a vast knowledge of
the game with a ton of oncourt energyy. Borowiak also
vacations players to the Italian Open and other sites during the
year. Such tennis travel comes
naturally for Scott, after all, he grew up with the big time in his
household (older brother Jeff was an international champion with
wins over the likes of Connors and Borg.) |

No. 1 player Tim Hobert, slams a backhand.

Tim runs wide for this forehand; he pounds it and recovers
perfectly balanced into the court. |
At a glance, it may appear that Josh Mireles hits his powerful forehand
with a closed stance because his feet start and finish sideways to the ball.
But his awesome explosion into the ball is a 110% open-stanced effort.
Quinn O'Brien, a formidable lefty, whips the ball with a natural fluid motion. |

Quin stays down on this backhand. |
Riley Elliott has a well controlled forehand, but he leans into it with a
closed stance and does not have the explosive weight transfer some of his
teammates gain when they unwind from an open stance. |
Jack Mireles begins his topspin forehand much like
Riley above,
but his follow-through is more dynamically up and down.

Matt Lopes displays instinctively athletic legwork as he
pushes off into his groundstrokes.
